Vision
We seek a future where river-dependent peoples and communities across Southeast Asia and beyond thrive with dignity, are positioned to collectively defend rivers and watersheds from extractivism, and exercise their rights to determine their own futures.
Values
Core values that underpin our advocacy, campaign, research and policy-oriented efforts and our interactions with colleagues, partners and allies, include:
Justice and Equity: We actively work to challenge systems of oppression, discrimination and injustice, while advancing shifts toward a future grounded in justice and equity.
Care, Empathy and Solidarity: We are committed to creating an inclusive, non-hierarchical culture of care, compassion and empathy for both humanity and planetary ecosystems.
Meaningful, inclusive decision making: We advocate for planning, decision-making, governance and collective management of water, land, energy and resources to be inclusive and democratized, upholding the rights of marginalized peoples.
Responsive to concerns: We aim to be consistently responsive to address emerging and ever-evolving issues brought to the fore by river dependent peoples and communities.
Accountable: We hold ourselves accountable to our commitments to communities, allies and civil society networks of which we are a part.
Mission
We collaborate with river-dependent peoples and communities as well as their allies across Southeast Asia and beyond to assert rights to dignified livelihoods and healthy ecosystems, the need for systemic changes and accountability for violations of human and environmental rights.
